COMPARATIVE STUDIES IN EXPRESSION OF MODEL BACTERIAL P-GALACTOSIDASE GENE IN CULTURE OF MURINE FIBROBLASTS AND DURING DIRECT INJECTION INTO THE ANIMAL LIVER

Summary

A vehicle with a model gene of the bacterial b-galactosidase has been constructed on the basis of DNA of hepatitis B virus. Comparative studies in the expression of E. coli lacZ gene under the control of promoters of hepatitis B virus and early promoter of SV40 virus in culture of murine fibroblasts (Ltk- cells) and in murine liver cells with immediate introduction of genetic material into liver by injection as part of liposomes have been conducted. The bacterial b-galactosidase gene under the control of promoter of surface antigen hepatitis B virus gene has been expressed much more efficiently in these cells.
