Cotton DNA Fingerprinting for Gossypium: The Use of M13 Phage DNA as a Hybridization Probe

 

Summary

 

    DNA fingerprinting using M13 phage DNA asa probe is a new approach of a great value for genetic investigating genomic structure of plants. A comparative analysis of hypervariable polymorphic patterns of various species and varieties of cotton Gossypium showed this method allows to establish distinations between species and varieties.
