Effect of SOS ribosomes on higher eukaryotic leucyl-tRNA synthetase activity at the first stage of tRNA aminoacylation

SOS ribosomes stimulate activity of homologous leucyl-tRNA synthe¬tase on the first stage of tRNA aminoacylation, namely for formation enzyme bound aminoacyl-adenylate. A possible mecha¬nism and functional significance of the interaction between eukary--otic leucyl-tRNA synthetase and ribosomes are discussed.
