The content of mRNA coding copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (CuZn-SOD) was studied in cells of different tissues of mice. With the help of DNA-RNA hybridization it was found that long effect of low doses of radiation causes the inhibition of CuZn-SOD trans¬cription In spleen and testicle and stimulates the gene expression of this enzyme in liver and brain of irradiated animals. The question about possible participation of CuZn-SOD in rod lores istance of mammals cells is discussed.
