Avian endogenous retroviruses: structure, expression and evolution

The recent data about the diversity ofavian endogenous retroviruses, their structure, peculiarity of the expression and possible ways of their evolution have been analysed in the present review. A role of endogenous retroviruses in the ontogenesis and pathology development has been shown.
