Cloning and analysis of the pectate lyase pelX gene of Klcbsiella oxytoca VN13

The pectate lyase pelX gene of K. oxytoca VN13 was cloned and sequenced. The aminoacid sequence deduced was compared with the related peptides of other bacteria. Potential promoters were defined. Two KdgR-boxes located in the promoter region prove inducibility of the operon. The amino-terminal signal sequence for PelX was exhibited.
