Abstract

The expression of HSP60 in the mRNA level in human hearts at the end-stage of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) as well as in the hearts of mice with disease model similar to human DCM was investigated. We observed a significant increase in the Hsp60 mRNA level at the beginning of the disease and decrease to a normal level at the end stage. As the Hsp60 level was increased during the disease up to the end stage we can presume some changes in the regulation of Hsp60 synthesis or its degradation at DCM progression.
